The market town of Kingsbridge stands at the head of the estuary. It offers a variety of small interesting shops, a cinema, weekly markets and a leisure centre with an excellent indoor pool.

An estuary boat trip will take you to the famous sailing port of Salcombe. Water sports and sea boat trips or simply enjoying a drink in the harbour side cafes, restaurants or bars watching other people ‘messing about in boats’ is a relaxing pastime.

Salcombe offers Overbecks, our nearest of many National Trust properties with its spectacular gardens and coastal views. The naval town of Dartmouth and the Elizabethan town of Totnes (Friday market is a must), are only a short drive away. (Click image to enlarge).
